Grace's Story

I had been living in Astoria for many years as a renter. Astoria, as a neighborhood, had become a place that I loved. I knew all the little places to go. I really enjoyed the community feeling that Astoria had. And I decided that I wanted to purchase my first home in Astoria.

I was, as most people are, clueless. How do you go about buying a home? I contacted the local realtors and told them what and where I wanted to buy. I had my down payment saved, and I was very serious and excited about the process of buying my first home.

Unfortunately, this elated feeling didn't last long. The realtors were taking me to every part of Astoria, except where I wanted. They kept telling me that my dream home was impossible and that I should take what they showed me or end up with nothing. I was becoming very disappointed about the way I was handled, but I was still determined to buy my home.

Instead of letting it all get to me and settling for something that wasn't right, I decided after much soul searching to try it out myself. I got my real estate license and started looking for my home. Not only did I find my first house, but I discovered a new passion in life: Real Estate.

I made a decision to open Grace Realty and to help others accomplish what their dream was, no matter how impossible it seemed. I believe that if you are honest and focused, you can do whatever you set your mind out to do.
